About Me
CHECK OUT MY CHESS INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE http://www.youtube.com/user/chesslearning
I am an amateur chess player, currently rated FIDE 1963 and USCF 1965. I’d like to dedicate this site to:
My Daugther
”Queen” of my chess board.

My Wife
She puts up with my chess passion.

Austin Lockwood
Who has developed the absolute best, most intuitive and sophisticated correspondence chess site in the world. http://www.schemingmind.com - The position on the board is the first game ever played on Schemingmind. Next April the site will celebrate it’s 5th year anniversary. Good job Austin!

My Mom
Always helping me put bro-art covers on my chess book dust jackets, and celebrating my chess enthusiasm. She made this colorful chess board for me with my initials, which is a perfect fit for my red/ivory plastic marshall chess pieces.

My Grandmother
She raised me and always supported my desire to enroll in the swimming and chess federations while growing up in Guatemala City. On her last visit I took her to the Chess Shop in Greenwich Village.

My Stepdad
My stepdad. Our games are typically of the nail-bitting tactical type. He is tough and difficult to beat. I love his story of Bobby Fischer before becoming world champion, once seeing a game of his while passing by the club. The director was deciding whether to abjudicate the game a draw. Bobby took one look at it and immediately dismissed it as a drawing position.

My Uncle
We grew up together and played lots of blitz later on in life. We went to some memorable chess events together, and here I took a picture of him with one of the Polgar sisters.

My Uncle
He gave me my first wooden chess set at age 17, as well as my first chess book (El Ataque y La Defensa by Hans Muller). I still have both!

Santa
Friend who shares in and understands my love for the game. She is also my guinea pig student. Here she is at the Insanity Event at Marshall Chess Club. This event consisted of ten G30 games starting at 9pm and finishing 9am the next morning!

Julien Kloeg

Julien is from Poortugaal, Holland and has been very kind to give me advise on my chess progress. Rated 2319 on Schemingmind.com you can see him here with a gorgeous alabaster set he purchased in Italy.

Thanks Surfnsuds. I have a couple of tactical quizzes I’ve been working on to add to the site, but got really busy at work, so won’t update the site until September. I appreciate the compliments. Cheers, Louis

Louis,
I am now inspired, seeing your website, to make one for myself:)
Your website is a simple and therefore a nice website. You can be my guide when I set about building it.
How about a visit to the land where chess originated? Many people say it is my home country, India. And we have one GM Viswanathan Anand . Actually some more good players these days too.
I look forward to your play against GM V Anand!

Sudhesh!
It was nice seeing you in NYC and look forward meeting your family in 2007 upon your return to the big apple.
Hmmm, GM Anand. If International Master Danny Kopec beat me in 13 moves, I think Mr. Anand would do it in, say, five moves? : )
Cheers,
Louis
